Drawing Dreams Workshop

At the Drawing Dreams Workshop our young artists were challenged to release their creative potential of the unconscious mind by the observational drawing and the irrational juxtaposition of images/cut outs, creating strange looking scenes and creatures, representing contradictory conditions of dream and reality.

Young artists began to learn the aspects of Surrealism - a 20th-century avant-garde movement in art and literature (1924-1966). The Surrealist artists sought to channel the unconscious as a means to unlock the power of the imagination, they believed that the rational mind repressed the power of the imagination, weighting it down with taboos.

There will be learning in depth of this Art movement throughout the educational year.
