This course is designed for young artists who wish to develop their drawing skills and form a strong foundation in the fundamentals of academic observational drawing.

The classes will giving the student a deep understanding of gesture, light and shadow, tone, form, perspective and composition.

These sessions aim to provide the student with tools, techniques and a skill-set that will aid him/her in self-expression.

With a strong understanding of the drawing fundamentals the student can go on to draw anything they want.

We will be following the Constructive Drawing Method known as Comparative Measurement (or the Russian method) with a focus on understanding the form you are drawing not just copying what you see.

The sessions will start with exercises in tone, form and perspective, leading up to portrait drawing.
