In this set course our students will carry on exploring the field of observational academic drawing whilst enhancing observational skills in a series of short studies leading to the final outcome in a form of a portrait.
The course will inspire students to build on existing knowledge and techniques so they can create with confidence and take their creative ideas to the next level. The tutor will guide students through the fundamental elements of light, shadow, tone, form, perspective and composition of the human body and face particularly. Students will build on knowledge in order to achieve real progress with paintings and drawings skills. Whatever students’ choice of medium, they will be challenged and supported in development of a style and outcomes contributing to the substantial portfolio.
The course will be following the Constructive Drawing Method known as Comparative Measurement (or the Russian method) with a main focus on understanding the form.
Throughout the course students will be exposed to a variety of subjects and guided on selecting the right individual path for their skills progression. Drawing from dressed life models and still life compositions are the integral part of the course.
Looking forward to welcome students in our drawing studio!
