Watercolours is a powerful medium that is often used to give form, life and colour to an idea before a major work is created.
This short 6-week course is for young artists who wish to develop and increase their watercolour understanding and skills in application. Each session focuses on the process of using watercolour to capture the mood and ambience in a painting.
Watercolour is an amazing medium for setting the tone of the painting, capturing the character and atmosphere of a place, be it the surrounding world or a scene from the imaginary world.
These classes will provide each student with a skill set and knowledge of materials, tips, tricks and techniques, as well as an approach to the process of a watercolour painting. Tutor’s individual feedback will support an evolvement of student’s creative ideas as they learn how to develop an ability to use the simplicity and flow of this amazing medium!
Each class is crafted to support artistic development through informative presentations discussing each topic with reference to classic and contemporary artists, recorded demonstrations from the tutor, and opportunities to ask questions and receive feedback.
This is an online course, taking place over Zoom.
In addition to the live session, students will receive a PDF copy of the presentation discussed, and fun assignments to complete after each class.
Materials required (general list): watercolour paper, brushes, watercolours, pencils, masking/washi tape and a hairdryer.
Specific downloadable resources and equipment lists will be provided via email prior to each class.
