That’s why our art school exists – to grow vital access to sidelined art education in the local community and it is free for those students who come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Supplementary education in Fine Art for children and young people 7-16 years old
Art 4 Youth Norwich art school is a high quality learning experience for children young people aged 7 to 16, delivered by Norfolk practising artists and art educators in small groups of 10 students and divided into age groups of 7 to 11 and 12 to 16 years old.
The programme combines use of professional materials and techniques, cultivating artistic vision and confidence whilst referencing art history, from old masters to contemporary artists.
From 11 January to 29 March 2022, 12 sessions,
17.00-18.00 for students 7 to 11 years old
18.00-19.00 for students 12 to 16 years old

This course will offer our young artists a creative introduction to portrait drawing, allowing students to develop their observational skills and accuracy in drawing.
The course will inspire students to build on existing knowledge and techniques so they can create with confidence and take their creative ideas to the next level. The tutor will guide students through the fundamental elements of light, shadow, tone, form, perspective and composition of the human body and face particularly. Mark making in several mediums including pencil, pen, and chalks will be used enabling students to explore a variety of different drawing techniques.
Students will build on knowledge to achieve real progress with drawings skills. Whatever students’ choice of medium, they will be challenged and supported in development of a style and outcomes contributing to the substantial portfolio.
Throughout the course students will be exposed to a variety of subjects and guided on selecting the right individual path for their skills progression.
